The acclaimed series “Finding Your Roots” returns as an encore presentation Friday nights at 8 p.m. this fall on Arizona PBS, as Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. explores the mysteries, surprises and revelations hidden in the family trees of popular figures.

Discover the unsolved mysteries behind the family stories of political organizer Donna Brazile, actor Ty Burrell and artist Kara Walker as they learn how the legacy of slavery has shaped their identities.
