Arizona leaders, ASU unite to fight antisemitism and hate

More from this show

The Anti-Defamation League Desert Region (ADL), in collaboration with ASU, is hosting the “Rising Above Together” Conference on April 11, 2025, to combat antisemitism and hate.

Featuring Dr. Michael Crow, Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari, Congressman Greg Stanton, Mayor Kate Gallego, Mayor Corey Woods, Mayor Jason Beck and Attorney General Mayes, this one-day event is focused on real solutions to combat antisemitism and hate. This exclusive conference will unite civic leaders, educators, law enforcement, students, interfaith partners and more from across the country to share ideas and take meaningful action.

Sarah Kader, ADL Desert Deputy Regional Director, and Seth Rachlin, ADL Desert Region Board Chair, joined us to discuss the event.

The title “Rise Above” was created by Rachlin because the goal of the conference is to rise above the issues of antisemitism and hate together. Kader said there has been an increase in antisemitism and hate within the past 18 months; therefore, the conference is aimed to do something different and inclusive.

One of the conference’s focuses is “contemporary antisemitism,” which is the spread of hate on social media.
