Learn the connection between skateboarding and Apache warriors

Douglas Miles is a member of the San Carlos-Apache tribe. He is a painter, photographer, and activist. He grew up in Phoenix and moved back to the San Carlos-Apache Indian Community. While watching his son skateboard, he realized there were correlations between skateboarding and Apache warriors — the fierceness, the determination. He painted a skateboard for his son using Apache designs and his company Apache Skateboards was created. Miles shares how he is ensuring the next generation of Native Americans are valued and appreciated. Learn more about his company at http://apacheskateboards.com.
