Meet Arizona indie rock band Calexico

More from this show

Calexico is an Americana, Tex-Mex, indie rock band that has its roots in Tucson. Their musical style is influenced by traditional Latin sounds of mariachi, conjunto, cumbia, and Tejano mixed with country, jazz, and post-rock. The band is named for the border town of Calexico, California. They are longtime favorites in the Arizona music scene. We talk with founding member, Joey Burns, and newest member, Sergio Mendoza, about creating music and also making a new album in the middle of a pandemic.
