Catalyst: The generosity of the Ick people of Uganda

More from this show

Among the Ick people of Uganda, generosity is born out of a supernatural belief that mysterious spirits living amongst them will punish people who are stingy and reward those who are generous. They, too, are living in huts without running water and other modern conveniences. They must cooperate to survive the harsh droughts and attacks by intruders, who have unfairly labeled the Ick people as savages. ASU researchers have found nothing could be further from the truth.
