New Report Finds Arizona Pays More Per Private School Student Than for Public School Students

More from this show

A new policy paper by a non-partisan think tank the Grand Canyon Institute found state subsidies for private school students are much more expensive than for public school students per student. The report shows that Arizona’s two private school subsidy programs cost the state $10,700 on average per regular education student who would not otherwise have enrolled in private school. That’s 75 percent more per student than the $6,000 Arizona pays to educate a regular education public school student when paid entirely from state funds. Research Director for Grand Canyon Institute Dave Wells tells us more.
