Gorraiz Book Project features mid-century photos of Casa Grande
Jan. 10, 2019
James “Jim” Lauda Gorraiz was a photographer who owned and operated the Casa Grande Photo Shop from 1949 until his death in 1990. During that time, he took thousands of photos of Casa Grande and surrounding areas. Phoenix photographer Marilyn Szabo saw Gorraiz’s photos at Arizona’s Museum of Casa Grande and embarked on a project to put the photos in book form. We’ll hear about the Gorraiz Book Project from Szabo, “hipstorian” Marshall Shore and Mike Sirota, the new director of the Casa Grande Museum and we’ll also see photos from the book.
