Wildfire impacts on wildlife

More from this show

Arizona has already had 987 wildfires this year and experts are predicting a robust season. Wildfires don’t just destroy homes and forests but habitats as well. Many animals are displaced during a fire with nowhere to go. The Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center rescues these orphaned or injured animals, rehabilitates them, and releases them back into the wild. We visit the center to see how they care for the animals and learn more about how destructive fires can be to our ecology.
