Arizona Theater Company’s “Silent Sky”

More from this show

The Arizona Theatre Company’s latest production, “Silent Sky,” is the true story of 19th-century astronomer Henrietta Leavitt and her astonishing discoveries. It’s a play by Lauren Gunderson, America’s most-produced playwright. It tells the story of Leavitt, who was hired at Harvard University as a “human computer” mapping stars as part of Dr. Edward Pickering’s “harem,” but without any scientific credit. Arizona Horizon host Ted Simons sits down with Silent Sky actress Veronika Duerr, who portrays Leavitt.
