Organization supporting families during the pandemic

More from this show

Stand for Children is an organization that provides funds for loans and grants and other resources to struggling families, especially those struggling during the pandemic. Horizonte host Jose Cardenas spoke with Rebecca Gau, Stand for Children’s Executive Director. Find Stand for Children Arizona’s COVID-19 related resources for families here.

As a part of their advocacy mission, they lean in locally with grassroots engagements with parents. Gau mentions they have around 2,000 active parents they work with on advocacy issues. This includes, literacy issues and school funding. As soon as COVID-19 hit in March, they did their best to put the health and safety of others first. Gau is working on projects to help families as much as possible during this pandemic.
