Resource fair aims to help Latino families struggling with disability

Three organizations are teaming up to host the Latino Disability Summit and Resource Fair, a local event that aims to provide information and resources for Latino families affects by a disability.
Rebeca Cavazos, the co-chair for the Latino Disability Summit and Resource Fair, spoke to Horizonte about the need for the summit and the cultural factors that may make Latinos hesitant to reach out for help. This year’s workshops will cover topics ranging from immigration to healthy eating.
The Latino Disability Summit and Resource Fair will be held at the Ability360 Center on Sept. 16 and is sponsored by Chicanos Por La Causa, AARP Phoenix and Ability360 Center.
