Christopher Moore

More from this show

Christopher Moore was born and raised in Ohio and started writing at 12 years old.

He attended Ohio State University and Brooks Institute of Photography in California, and, at 19, he moved to the west coast.

To occupy himself, he held various jobs such as a roofer, grocery clerk, insurance broker and rock-and-roll DJ. In 1992, he wrote his first novel, Practical Demonkeeping.

The film rights to his books have either been bought by studies or optioned, but Moore says, “Nothing is in any danger of being made.” Moore bases the dark sense of humor prevalent in his writing on growing up with his father who was a state patrolman.

Aside from writing, Moore spends his free time kayaking, scuba diving, taking photos and sumi-e ink painting.
