Allysa Adams proves anything is possible

More from this show

For more than three decades, Allysa Adams has worked on television as a reporter, producer, and manager. Adams has experience working for local television stations, major news organizations, and cable shows such as CBS News, National Geographic TV, Arizona PBS, and KNXV-TV as an on-air reporter, field producer, and executive producer.

When Adams was still a senior in college, she started her career in journalism by working part-time for Walter Cronkite at CBS. After graduating from Columbia University, Adams worked at “60-Minutes” at CBS News for a number of years before moving to Columbia, Missouri, to pursue a master’s degree in journalism at the University of Missouri.

Her assignments in local news reporting took her to Omaha, Louisville, and Phoenix, where she spent over a decade covering investigative, in depth, and daily news.

Adams joined Arizona PBS in 2016 as the Executive Producer for News and Public Affairs. In this capacity, she oversaw Arizona PBS’ News Division and created and covered content for the evening public affairs programs “Horizonte” and “Arizona Horizon.”

Adams managed the coverage of some of the most significant news items in Arizona at the time, including the passing of Senator John McCain, the COVID-19 pandemic’s effects, political battles for local and national positions, and the 2016 and 2020 elections.

Adams joined “Cronkite News” in 2021 as a Content Director, supervising student content creators for the 30-minute, award-winning program. Currently she is the managing editor of the broadcast.

Adams has also taught broadcast reporting and performance methods at the undergraduate and graduate levels in her role as a Faculty Associate at ASU.
