Arizona PBS General Manager Adrienne Fairwell elected to serve on national educational television board

More from pressroom

Arizona PBS General Manager Adrienne Fairwell has been elected to serve on the board of the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA). An opportunity for Arizona PBS to be more involved in national discussions around issues facing public media and its future, Fairwell will serve a two-year term, beginning July 1, 2022.

“I’m honored to have been elected to serve as a member of the NETA Board of Directors,” Fairwell said. “I look forward to bringing my perspective to the table as public media leaders from across the country assemble for important discussions about our collective future and opportunities for growth.”

Established in 1997, NETA is one of the nation’s leading public media service organizations. Focusing specifically on the education mission of public media, NETA aims to strengthen and amplify that mission. The organization is governed by a board of directors composed of general managers or designees from member licensees and elected representatives from NETA Peer Learning Communities (PLC), and one elected representative from the affiliate members.

Fairwell took the helm at Arizona PBS in April 2021 following a three-year stint at South Carolina ETV, where she served as assistant general manager and vice president of Marketing, Communications and Development. During her first year at Arizona PBS, Fairwell led the completion and release of a new strategic plan for the organization and ramped up local production efforts.
