End of year arts special: Virtual classes for dance, art and piano

More from this show

A special edition arts show where we highlight how the arts are helping people through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Virtual dance classes for the vulnerable

Ballet Arizona is providing two new virtual dance programs to help serve groups that are at extra risk for COVID-19. One is a class for those with Parkinson’s Disease. The other is a class for people with Down Syndrome.

Helping seniors connect

The pandemic is hitting Arizona seniors hard both physically and psychologically, including the feeling of being shut in and shut off from the world, but virtual art classes can help seniors connect.

Learning piano from a different country

An ASU music professor has found an innovative way to teach piano to his students based in China and unable to return to the U.S. due to COVID-19. This new method involves playing more than one piano at the same time, even when the keyboards are halfway around the world.
