Arizona PBS has launched a new weekly podcast that explores the ever-evolving world through the lens of intense curiosity and a passion for lifelong learning.

Each episode of “Nerdcast from Arizona PBS” features an interview with someone whose deep expertise in their chosen field leads to an enlightening, engaging and delightfully nerdy conversation.

Four episodes are already available, including a conversation with Scott Pelley about his experiences as a CBS News anchor and longtime contributor to “60 Minutes,” a chat about Jane Austen and “Sanditon” with professor Devoney Looser and a discussion about misinformation in news with media scholar Kristy Roschke.

On Wednesday, March 25, the guest will be Mark Tarbell, chef, restaurateur and host of “Plate & Pour” on Arizona PBS.

“We’re excited to launch our first-ever digital-first audio program and we’re looking forward to engaging with new audiences via podcasts,” said Nerdcast host Andrew Ramsammy, who is the director of audience strategy at Arizona PBS.

Going forward, some episodes will feature conversations sparked by Arizona PBS on-air programming. Some will feature nationally-known guests who visit ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, home of Arizona PBS. And some will be an opportunity for deep conversations with interesting people in the community.

After all, everybody is a nerd for something.

“Nerdcast from Arizona PBS” is available through major podcast apps such as Stitcher, Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Find the show online at azpbs.org/nerdcast and join the conversation on Twitter using the hashtag #NerdcastAZPBS.
