Renowned Latina author Stella Pope Duarte will talk about La Llorona (The Weeping Woman of Mexico). Duarte has twice been awarded a creative writing fellowship from the Arizona Commission on the Arts, and has received awards and recognition nationwide for her literary works. Her current work in progress speaks of her great concern for women’s rights, and deals with the over four hundred brutal murders of young women in Ciudad Juárez.
