AZPBS in Your Neighborhood
Our team participates in local community events around the state, handing out books and resources to families and educators. Each year, we strive to reach more community members than the year before. Learn where we’ve been, then tell us where we should go next!
Explore below ¬Where we’ve been!
Over the course of three weeks this summer, around 120 children participated in an Arizona PBS KIDS Super Why Reading Camp from various tribal, rural and inner city communities. 📚
And our staff shared learning resources at community events across the state including the McDowell Sonoran Mountain Conservancy Children’s Learning and Play Festival (with 5,000 attendees) and conference presentations at the Prevent Child Abuse Arizona Summit.
🐃 We also made two trips to Alaska to collaborate with our friends at Alaska Public Media to deliver workshop resources and support their delivery of learning camps in rural communities.

Summer events
This summer, the Arizona PBS Education team has been all over the state. From Flagstaff to Lake Havasu City to Fort Apache, our team has been handing out books, dental resources, crafts and more. We also celebrated the winners of the 2023 Arizona PBS Writing Contest.

Spring events
Spring was a busy time for the Arizona PBS Education team! Events like community fairs, education conferences and Dr. Seuss’ birthday sent the team across the state to meet Arizona families and educators. The team gave out activity books, crafts and dental health goodie bags in places like Bullhead City, Yuma and Avondale.

Winter events
The Education team spent the winter celebrating the holidays and giving back to the community. At Christmas in the Park in Parker, the team helped families make holiday crafts. And team members delivered presents like books and puzzles to the Safe House Shelter in Yuma.
