Women’s prison arts program

More from this show

Journey Home is a program created by ASU Gammage that enables incarcerated women to gain trust and self-confidence through the use of the arts, storytelling, and dance. This program was created because the population of incarcerated women was not being served properly, as female incarceration rates continue to increase while other incarcerated populations decrease. Producer Sabina Zofcik is present at the final performance put on by the women. She takes us a little deeper into Arcenia Ruiz’s story and her experience with Journey Home.
