ASU Researchers turning to space to measure groundwater

Arizona State University researchers have joined forces with scientists from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory to use satellites to monitor water in underground aquifers. The researchers have focused their efforts on the one of the largest aquifer systems in the world, located in California’s Central Valley. ASU School of Earth and Space Exploration scientists Chandrakanta Ojha and Susanna Werth are working on the project, and will tell us more about using satellites to measure the volume and storage capacity of aquifers.
