Health Epidemics? Sleep Disorders

More from this show

What is “normal,” healthy sleep? We continue our series on increasingly prevalent health issues with an examination of sleep disorders. Dr. Robert Hooper, a sleep disorder specialist, joins us to talk about the most common and dangerous of these conditions, Obstructive Sleep Apnea. We discuss symptoms, causes, diagnosis and treatment with Dr. James Parish, who runs the Mayo Clinic Sleep Disorders Center, and Dr. Lois Krahn, chair of Mayo Clinic’s Department of Psychiatry and Psychology.
