Students across the state to compete in Arizona Spelling Bee

More from this show

Students will put their knowledge to the test in the Arizona Spelling Bee, taking place on Sunday, April 8 at 1 p.m.

The annual spring event welcomes 27 students K-8 to compete in the statewide spelling competition. The winner will represent Arizona in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.

The students spend days studying the dictionary and quizzing themselves. They’ll learn the different pronunciations, language of origin and definitions. Many students agree that German words are some of the most difficult words to remember.
