Free medical tuition
Dec. 12, 2019
In a move to address both the severe statewide primary care physician shortage and the burden of student debt, the University of Arizona Colleges of Medicine in Tucson and Phoenix will be providing free tuition to medical students who agree to practice in a federally designated under-served community in Arizona for at least two years. Right now, the state needs 600 primary care doctors. We hear more about the program from Steve Voeller, vice president of Government and Community Relations for the University of Arizona.
