Jan. 6 riot hearings

Will the riot on January 6th change the minds of Republican voters for the upcoming presidential election?

Joining us today on Arizona Horizon on PBS to talk about the January 6th committee hearing is Chuck Coughlin, president, HighGround Inc. He is also a five-time winner of Arizona’s “Best Political Operative” which he was awarded by the Arizona Capitol Times.

The bipartisan House select committee met to discuss the investigation of former President Donald Trump and his involvement in what took place on Jan. 6.

Let’s take a look back to January 6th

On the day of January 6th, just shortly after the presidential election, a riot broke out at the U.S. Capitol, where thousands of protesters began storming the building until they gained access, breaking glass and doors in the process.

The protesters demanded that Congress overturn the election of Joe Biden and order that Donald Trump be the winner of the 2020 presidential election.

Coughlin’s Viewpoint

Coughlin stated “It is a big deal to have the president of the United States commit seditious acts. I said that the day after January 6th.”

What do the Republicans think?

With the two parties continuing to argue over the 2020 election, what do the Republicans think of this? “I mean there is a strong base of the Republican party. When we did data on this last year it was 75% of the Republicans agreed that the election was fraudulent” said Coughlin.

How do people feel about Donald Trump?

Here is what Chuck Coughlin had to say: “with all of the instability in the world right now, I think people want to talk about what’s happening right now. Even a lot of Republicans are done with Trump.”
