More from this show

The Chandler International Film Festival (CIFF) is coming up Jan. 19 to 28. The 10-day film festival will feature 125 films from 35 countries, industry workshops, and Q&A sessions throughout the Downtown Chandler area.

Two featured films were directed by local filmmakers and were filmed here in Arizona. Betty Ramirez, Vice President of CIFF, and Dave Waltzer, Board Member of CIFF, joined Arizona Horizon to tell us more.

Filmmakers, producers, screenwriters, and editors fly in from all over the world where individuals passionate about the art and craft of filmmaking come together to celebrate, collaborate, and share their experiences.

Over 2,000 interests spend their days review the diverse selection of films, navigating through categories to determine which ones will be showcased in the film festival.

“We have a multicultural city in Chandler, ” said Ramirez. “We have a movie from every single community.”

Since the start of the Chandler International Film Festival Arizona filmmaking has increased in the community.
