Miss Rose is an accomplished illustrator, songwriter and author renowned for her “Emily & Aiden” children’s book series.
Her books are designed to impart essential life lessons to children aged 4 to 8 through engaging stories and adventures. Each book in the series combines imaginative storytelling with educational content, addressing themes such as personal growth, perseverance and empathy.
In addition to her written work, Miss Rose creates a complementing collection of songs, with over 100 tracks available across 23 streaming services in 249 countries. These songs enrich the reading experience, providing an interactive element helping children connect with the lessons in her books.
Miss Rose also leads the Cyber S.M.A.R.T. program, which is dedicated to teaching children how to navigate the internet safely. This program is part of her broader commitment to providing educational resources that support children’s development both in and out of the classroom.
With a focus on blending fun with valuable lessons, Miss Rose’s work is a unique blend of literature, music and practical education aimed at fostering a love of learning and growth in young readers.
“The inspiration for my books is actually my kids,” Miss Rose said.
While sharing a discussion with her son, she learned a classmate of his couldn’t afford glasses, making learning more difficult. This then inspired Miss Rose to want to help.
That night, she began researching how to put together children’s books. She previously worked as a graphic designer for 15 years and was able to utilize this to illustrate the book herself as well.
When asked what makes a good children’s book, Miss Rose explained she believes it needs to be a good story, and it should teach children a lesson. “I know a lot of books these days are less words, and they can read it in a matter of seconds. But for me, a good book is a good story, and they’re learning something,” Miss Rose said. They are learning without realizing they are.
Her process begins with writing the story page by page, then she will illustrate what is happening. She also writes songs relating to the series and songs that will continue to teach kids.
