APS parent company profits jump

Pinnacle West, the parent company of Arizona Public Service company, saw its first-quarter profits increase five times this year as compared to the same time last year. The profits for Pinnacle West were $17.9 million. 2018’s first-quarter profits for the company were $3.2 million. Officials from the company say a colder than normal winter contributed to the higher profits. There are two cases before Arizona Corporation Commissioners, which sets utility rates, to look at APS electric rates.
