How has SB1070 Impacted Arizona

10 years ago Senate Bill 1070 was enacted in Arizona. The bill, required law enforcement to ask anyone suspected of being in the country illegally their legal status. Through the years SB1070 was challenged and altered through the courts but it’s had an enormous impact of our state. Its effects are felt even today. Arizona Republic reporters Yvonne Wingett Sanchez and Ronald Hansen are behind a new Arizona Republic series titled rediscovering SB1070 and we talked to them about the role of the legislation is making Arizona a battle ground state today.
