Creating a more resilient civic culture

More from this show

The Arizona Civic Life Partnership,a collaboration between CFA and the Arizona Center for Civic Leadership at the Flinn Foundation, welcomed partners at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences to Phoenix on February 3 for a day-long event for leaders from the public, private and nonprofit sectors. It highlighted inspiring work in our community focused on creating a more resilient civic culture and a renewed commitment to constitutional democracy.

This event followed up on listening sessions held in Phoenix in 2019 that were instrumental in shaping a ground-breaking report from the Academy’s Commission on the Practice of Democratic Citizenship, “Our Common Purpose: Reinventing American Democracy for the 21st Century.” The report offered 31 ambitious recommendations to strengthen American democracy.

Eric Liu, from the Commission on the Practice of Democratic Leadership, joined Arizona Horizon to discuss.
