Support Arizona PBS
Protect My Public Media is a national campaign bringing attention to the vital services local public media stations provide. This campaign is a response to ongoing efforts to reduce or even eliminate federal public media funding. Below, you can get involved by adding your voice to all the others advocating for all our great work or by making a gift of support to the station.
Focusing on what matters

No other media source, broadcast or streaming, shares our mission of providing local, no-cost and commercial free service to every Arizonan in the communities we serve.
Arizona PBS reaches nearly 80% of the population of our state, providing not only world-class programming, but vital services in the areas of education and public safety, all free of charge to the people of Arizona.
Parents say PBS KIDS is the #1 source to prepare their children for success in school.

Education by the numbers

We were the first PBS station in the nation to administer scholarships for early childhood educators, helping more than 1,200 teachers to complete degrees at Arizona colleges and universities in Fiscal Year 2024 alone.

Arizona PBS hosted “Super Why” summer camps for preschoolers throughout the state, boosting early reading comprehension by 49% and letter sounds and encoding by 77%, all from just a three-week camp.

With a focus on literacy and early childhood education, Arizona PBS distributed more than 12,000 books to the numerous “book deserts” throughout the state in 2024 and 2025.

We distributed more than 5,000 oral health kits to families and supported mental health by conducting parent workshops to help deal with anxiety, counter abuse and prevent suicide.

Super Why reading camps are a place to play, learn and grow.
Arizona PBS supports the local transition to kindergarten with “Super Why” 3-week camps. On average over the last three years, these camps show encouraging evaluation results:
• Letter identification increased 10%
• Letter sounds and encoding increased 77%
• Decoding and segmenting increased 57%
• Reading words and comprehension increased 49%
The map below showcases the various locations for Super Why reading camps. Arizona PBS provides local support throughout the state, including connections with all 22 indigenous communities and nations.

Public safety

Eyes on IPAWS
Arizona PBS airwaves deliver realtime FEMA IPAWS (Integrated Public Alert and Warning System) alerts to local emergency managers throughout the state without the need for an internet connection with 99.99% uptime.
Without continued federal funding, public safety services are at risk. And if they are not furnished by Arizona PBS, it’s highly unlikely that anyone else will step in to provide them.
Help maintain universal access to these vital services. Please vote to maintain or increase federal funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and Arizona PBS.

WARN: Warning, Alert and Response Network
Broadcast towers provide real-time emergency messaging to mobile carriers throughout the state:
• Government agencies transmit weather, fire, AMBER and other alerts to Arizona PBS
• Arizona PBS uses its network of eight broadcast sites throughout the state to relay signals to multiple local mobile carriers, including in remote counties and tribal land not served by commercial broadcasters
• PBS also provides a live map for consumers to see alerts in their areas (https://warn.pbs.org)

EAS: Emergency Alert System
Arizona PBS provides weather and civil defense alerts to parts of the state not reached by commercial broadcasters.
