Vieux Farka Toure appears on Emmy Award-winning ‘Articulate’

Malian singer and guitarist, Vieux Farka Toure, appeared on season four, episode seven of “Articulate” Sunday, Nov. 18. The son of late legendary Malian guitar player Ali Farka Toure, Vieux was drawn to music because of his father but continued pursuing it in spite of him.

Vieux is now forging his own path and making a name for himself as a musician. Often referred to as “The Hendrix of the Sahara,” it wasn’t until 2001 that Vieux began playing the guitar.

In April 2017, he released his latest album, “Samba,” which was recorded live in front of an audience in Woodstock, New York. The album is hailed by critics as his best album yet due to his distinct style, which has earned him a reputation for his musical talent.
