‘Clifford the Big Red Dog’ returns this December

Based on the best-selling Scholastic book series by Norman Bridwell featuring the larger-than-life dog and his best friend Emily Elizabeth, the reimagined animated series will premiere on Arizona PBS with an hour-long special airing Monday, Dec. 9 at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. and again on Friday, Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. & 2 p.m.

The series will continue with half-hour episodes every Friday at 10:30 a.m. beginning Dec. 20.

“Clifford” will also air daily at 9 a.m. beginning Dec. 5 on Arizona PBS KIDS, our 24/7 kids channel. The hour-long special will also air Dec. 7 and 8 at 7 p.m. as part of our special Family Night programming.

Although still set on Birdwell Island, “Clifford the Big Red Dog” will offer fresh and colorful new locations. The rebooted show will also have a strong emphasis on social-emotional skills such as empathy, along with a solid curriculum designed to boost early literacy and encourage imaginative play – teaching as it entertains with Clifford-sized humor.
