American Experience: Jimmy Carter

Monday, Dec. 30 at 7 p.m.

Revisit the life of the Georgia peanut farmer who rose to become our 39th President. The film traces Jimmy Carter’s rapid ascent in politics, dramatic fall from grace, unexpected resurrection and post-presidential success as a humanitarian.

Then at 9 p.m., explore President Carter’s inspiring story on “In Their Own Words.” This tale of a long-shot outsider who beat the odds against him again and again showcases how President Carter never looked back in his quest to better the lives of millions. His journey from poor, rural peanut farmer to become the 39th president of the United States will be revealed to be a story of faith, determination and humanity.
