CyberMed Summit highlights possibility of hacking medical devices

The second annual CyberMed Summit will take place December 13 and 14 at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix. During the summit, attendees will be able to watch simulations of hacking an insulin pump and pacemaker. They will also hear from the Food and Drug Administration, Homeland Security and medical device manufacturers about the safety of medical devices connected to the web. We hear more from Dr. Christian Dameff, a U of A College of Medicine graduate, and Beau Woods, deputy director of the Cyber Statecraft Initiative at the Atlantic Council’s Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security.
