Scottsdale McDowell Sonoran Preserve 25th anniversary

More from this show

Scottsdale’s McDowell Sonoran Preserve will be celebrating its 25th anniversary this month. The preserve was created through three separate votes of city residents who approved sales tax increases to purchase the land and protect it. At nearly 47 square miles, it is now among the largest urban preserves in the United States, and sees about 700,000 visits each year. We hear more from Scottsdale mayor Jim Lane and Christine Kovach, a former chair of the McDowell Sonoran Land Trust.
