Lawmakers encourage people to adopt animals as shelters reach capacity

As far as we know, pets can’t contract the COVID-19 virus, but pets in animal shelters are being affected by the pandemic. A number of lawmakers are asking Valley residents to consider adopting pets as local shelters reach capacity. Cronkite News reporter Marcella Baietto spoke with Congressman Greg Stanton and a local animal shelter director about the impact of the coronavirus on surrendered pets.
