Latinos experiencing effects of long COVID

Despite lockdowns now being a thing of the past, COVID-19 is still prevalent in the country, and for a percentage of those who’ve contracted the virus, the effects have lingered even longer than most.
Dubbed ‘long COVID’, sufferers of this experience more severe symptoms that take longer to go away. Some Latinos feel their communities have been disproportionately affected by long COVID.
Gilbert Lopez, an Assistant Professor at the School of Transborder Studies at ASU, has created a website and a public health campaign aiming to educate Latinos about the dangers of COVID, how to seek treatment, and why vaccination for COVID is important.
