Raúl Grijalva, Adelita’s father, was one of the most senior and influential progressives in Congress. Following in his footsteps, Adelita Grijalva has made defending democracy, protecting immigrant rights and preserving access to Medicaid and Medicare central to her campaign.

Daniel Butierez, a painting company owner and the Republican nominee, captured more than one-third of the vote in the 2024 election against Raúl Grijalva. He is prioritizing issues like homelessness, crime and border security in the district.
