We Want the Funk: Pre-Premiere Screening

Stanley Nelson’s syncopated voyage through the history of funk music from early roots to 1970s urban funk and beyond. Join us as we celebrate the joy and spirit of funk music through live music and discussion of “We Want the Funk,” presented by “Independent Lens.”
The film will be followed by a brief discussion and live funk music performed by Sandra Bassett and September Soul.
