Joe’s Diner: A taste of home

More from this show

No matter where you are from, Joe’s Diner will make you feel right at home.

Joe Seriale, owner of Joe’s Diner, said they are known for their pancakes, biscuits and nine kinds of homemade jam.

The diner serves their made fresh and daily pancakes and biscuits to around 80,000 people a year with 47,000 cups of coffee poured, which he deems the best anyone has ever had.

Seriale said the vibe of the diner is curated from none other than the servers. With all of them being moms, he said they serve with a level of care he cannot replicate.

Seriale said he makes sure to get out of the kitchen periodically to check on guests himself to make sure the food he is serving is the best.

“Cooking is giving,” Seriale said. “When you get to feel that come back because of their appreciation, it makes you want to work better.”

Guest Stacia Ortega said after looking for a place that gives the same mom-and-pop feeling as diners back home in New England, she found Joe’s Diner.

She starts her visits off with a cup of coffee alongside a pancake, which she said are the best pancakes she’s ever had in Phoenix. The fluffy and flavorful pancakes, Ortega said, have touches that remind her of home.

The overall atmosphere of the diner was enhanced by their unique and vintage decor, she said.

Ortega’s pro-tip: Get there early because they are so busy, parking can be tight.
