Arizona State University’s Center for Cognitive Ubiquitous Computing (CUbiC) focuses on machine learning and pattern recognition, human-computer interaction and haptics, which is a science dealing with the sense of touch. Sethuraman “Panch” Panchanathan, the founding director of CUbiC, will tell us about some of the work going on at the center, including helping surgeons practice laparoscopic surgery.
