Controversy continues over South Phoenix light rail extension

More from this show

The fight continues over a light rail extension into South Phoenix. Some residents in the area want the extension, while businesses along Central Avenue don’t want the street reduced to two lanes for light rail. The fight resulted in a delay in the approval of a city budget. The council voted to proceed with the plan, but the plan to reduce Central Avenue to two lanes could change. KJZZ Radio reporter Christina Estes has been covering the story and will bring us up to date.
