Index shows possible signs of impending recession
Jan. 2, 2019
The Logistics Managers Index is an economic index that measures leading economic indicators such as inventory, transportation and warehousing prices. The LMI index was created in part by Dale Rogers, a professor of logistics and supply chain management at the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.
Rogers says that in November, he started to see a slowdown in growth in the LMI, similar to what was seen before the great recession that started ten years ago. Rogers discusses what the LMI may be telling us about the economy.
