Affordable Health Care Act ‘Skinny Plan’ expansion

Governor Doug Ducey has signed into law a bill that expands the time people can remain on short-term or “Skinny Plans” under the Affordable Care Act.

The plans are not subject to rules on pre-existing conditions and caps on coverage, and advocates are saying “buyer beware” to people considering purchasing such plans. We’ll hear more from Swapna Reddy, an Arizona State University College of Health Solutions assistant professor.
