Black History Month discussion with local leaders

More from this show

Arizona Horizon is recognizing Black History Month through a series of discussions with local leaders in the African-American community. Guests include Cloves Campbell Jr. and State Rep. Reginald Bolding with candid discussions about being black in Arizona. They both have served in the State Legislature.

Bolding shares his experience as a special education teacher in South Phoenix, where Campbell Jr. grew up. Both the guests discuss family life as well, having had strong relationships with their father. Bolding also discusses being stopped by police at gunpoint while driving—once, his father was with him.

They also discuss their overall hopes for the Black community in Arizona.
