SRP project brings electricity to 50+ Navajo families

SRP recently partnered with other utility companies to bring electricity to 56 Navajo families in a project called “Light up Navajo.” The project took place over four weeks. According to the project’s website, 131 homes were connected to power as of June 7th, 2022.

Jim Pratt, associate general manager of SRP, and Walter Haase, general manager of the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority, talked about the challenges of the project, as well as what the initiative means to the families it has helped.
