Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes on policies, pending lawsuit

Kris Mayes, Arizona Attorney General, joined “Arizona Horizon” to discuss different issues affecting Arizonians.

Mayes said she intends to push back against potential abortion and immigration policy proposals by the administration of President-elect Donald Trump. She celebrated the passage of Proposition 139, the abortion rights proposition.

“With the passage and signing of Proposition 139, voters have spoken loudly and clearly in support of protecting a woman’s right to make decisions about her own body without government interference,” Mayes said. “That is a cause for celebration.”

Mayes has pointed out she is still fighting one remaining lawsuit over her 2022 election by Abe Hamadeh, who is trying to convince a court that she is holding office illegally.
