Trump’s plan for birthright citizenship

More from this show

President-elect Donald Trump said he plans to do away with birthright citizenship, meaning he plans to stop the practice of automatically making anyone born in the United States an American citizen.

This type of citizenship has been in place for decades. It applies to children born to someone who is in the country illegally or in the U.S. on a tourist or student visa who plans to return to their home country.

Stephen Montoya, partner at Montoya, Lucero and Pastor, joined us to discuss the potential implications.
