Willo Home Tour returns to showcase historic Phoenix homes
Feb. 4
On Sunday, February 15, 2026, the Historic Willo Neighborhood in downtown Phoenix is inviting guests to travel back in time. This year, the 37th Annual Historic Willo Home Tour will give guests the opportunity to visit a historic firehouse museum and the interiors of over 12 unique homes that represent a variety of architectural styles.
Willo is located between Thomas and McDowell Roads from 1st to 7th Avenues and is one of the first historic suburbs to rise from undeveloped agricultural land in the 1920s.
Willo is now a core part of central Phoenix with all the amenities, culture, and community in the area, as it remains one of Phoenix’s oldest and most beautiful neighborhoods.
Courtney Southerland, Willo Home Tour Co-Chair, joined “Arizona Horizon” to discuss the neighborhood and the upcoming event.
“…mostly in the 20’s,” Southerland said, “…we do have some a little earlier than the 1920’s, but mostly the 1920’s and 1940’s. We have homes on tour that are almost 100 years old.”
Being that the District encompasses a large area, the houses vary in styles, including some that are Spanish revivals and Greek revivals.
“Our homeowners are very prideful of our neighborhood,” Southerland explained, “…they open them up for thousands of visitors that get to walk through and see the nooks and crannies…and all the special things you don’t see in new homes these days.”
According to Southerland, a lot of the homes in the district have the same original footprint and structures. There are historic preservation rules that the district must follow to ensure they stay within its guidelines.
“What you see is what you get with the homes,” Southerland said, “…now some homeowners will completely remodel, but the outside is the same.”
Tickets for the event are on the Willo Historic Neighborhood website, but anybody can also buy tickets on the day of at the street fair.
