The SAVE Act will make voting difficult for voters with disabilities

More from this show

The House of Representatives passed the SAVE America Act. However, part of that act would make it harder for people with disabilities to vote. If passed into law, the act would require people to register to vote in person. This is something that could be a challenge or impossible for people with disabilities.

Voters would also be required to show a passport, ID or driver’s license to vote. These are documents that people with disabilities may not be able to access or obtain readily. As it is, many polling locations do not have ideal access for people with mobility issues or sight or hearing impairments.

Jon Meyers, Executive Director of the Arizona Developmental Disabilities Planning Council, joined “Arizona Horizon” to discuss how the SAVE Act would impact voters with disabilities.
